The Port Stanley Festival Theatre will be looking to delight London area theatre fans this summer with its staging of the comedy Liars at a Funeral.

The play features a family trapped at their grandmother’s funeral due to an ice storm, where the forced confinement reveals lies and dysfunction. It was first written by Sophia Fabiilli and directed by Krista Jackson at the Blyth Festival in 2023. The Port Stanley performance will feature just five actors playing nine different roles, including local actors Barbara Saxberg, Justin Otto and Sarah Machin-Gale. Behind the curtain the creative team includes guest director Julie Tomaino, set designer Eric Bunnell and stage manager Delaney Small.

Liars at a Funeral will run for 22 performances across 17 days, including matinee and evening performances on most days. The run will also include a “Talk Back Tuesdays” performance where audiences are invited to stay and discuss the play with the creative team.
