Four-day festival will offer great taste

The second annual RibFest is taking place for four days starting next week. It is a presentation of the Rotary Club of Penticton.

Four championship barbecue teams from across the country will be competing for prizes including First Place Overall, Best Sauce and People’s Choice. The public will only be able to vote for their favourites via text message. Of course, people will be able to purchase samples from each team.

There will be musical entertainment from T.J. and Horseplay, Pure Twang Rockabilly and Montoya, a beverage garden and 50/50 draws. The Kid Zone will feature lots of activities including a petting zoo, bouncy castles, face painting and games. There will also be clowns, stilt walkers and other performers.

Vendors will also be on hand to sell a variety of merchandise. Sponsorships are available from $1,000 up to $10,000 and sponsors will receive a 10 x 10-foot booth among other perks. Applications for volunteers are still being accepted.

Penticton Stationery printers are often asked to provide items such as banner to events like this one.

RibFest will be held at Okanagan Lake Park from June 30 until July 3 beginning at 11:00 AM each day. Admission is free of charge. To learn more about this event, contact Jean Jacobsen from the Rotary Club of Penticton at 250-497-5485.
