Classic kids musicians to visit London on farewell tour

Children’s entertainers and musicians Sharon Hampsom and Bram Morris will stop by London, Ontario this May on their final tour.

The duo, who have entertained multiple generations of kids, are touring to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their debut album ‘One Elephant, Deux Elephants’. Together with the late Lois Ada, they became known for their music, television show, and large elephant costume. In the process, they received the Order of Canada and became official ambassadors for UNICEF.

The trio of Sharon, Lois and Bram formed in Toronto in the 1970s and recorded dozens of albums over the past four decades, using an unique folk style aimed at young listeners. Their fame grew through The Elephant Show, which aired on the CBC between 1984 and 1988. Like other children’s entertainers, they appealed to kids through a mixture of catchy melodies and bright colours such as those used for flyer printing or Promotional Products aimed at kids.

The farewell tour will stop by London on May 17 at Centennial Hall. Children over 12 months will require their own tickets. The goal of this tour is to introduce a new generation of children to the group’s music. Now in their seventies, Sharon and Bram have said that they will no longer be touring after this last hurrah, but they still intend to record music and pursue other endeavors such as Books.
