Annual ball celebrates the dances of the last century

The Ragtime Frolic Ball is taking place this August as part of a two-day festival.

The event will be celebrating the Ragtime dances of 1914 to 1918. This includes the hesitation waltz, the Maxixe, and the Tango. Those attending are encouraged to wear period costumes, while there will also be two workshops led by Cathy Stephens. The topics at these sessions will be "Stepping into the Ragtime era" and "Daring dances of the day". Music at the ball will be provided by Childgrove.

On the second day of the event, the Family Frolic will be held, followed by tea, with passes for these activities free with admission to Fanshawe Pioneer Village.

Overall, Tickets cost $50 for the weekend's events. This includes the workshops, a full country supper, the evening ball, and the Family Frolic and tea. Those attending the ball will also receive souvenir ball cards.

People from all over the London area will likely want to attend this historical event. Local poster printing companies often help advertise such occasions by providing marketing materials.
