True North Puzzle Events will be holding its Kanata Puzzle Weekend event this April, aiming to bring together puzzle and game hobbyists from throughout Ontario.
The event will include everything from traditional jigsaw puzzles to paper challenges like sudoku, crosswords and logic puzzles. Visitors can compete against other puzzle lovers to see who can solve the fastest, or enjoy exploring new puzzles at their own pace. Attendees can sign up as a pair, a four-person team or an individual, and be matched with other solo participants.
The Puzzle Weekend also offers the chance to win prizes in competitive events, with cash rewards for the top three puzzlers overall across a gauntlet of events. There will also be random prize draws during each events, and recognition for the fastest newcomer. Featured events include Puzzle Chess, where opponents take turns using a timer, and Pairs Pyramid, where duos must complete multiple puzzles.
The event includes a buffet lunch on the weekend, and pop-up shops offering puzzles and merchandise. Hobbyist events like this often turn to printing services and trophy shops to provide rewards for competitions as well as advertising. True North Puzzle Events holds multiple Puzzle Weekends throughout Canada, including stops in Calgary and Halifax.
The 2026 Kanata Puzzle Weekend will take place from April 17 to 19 at the Holiday Inn and Suites Kanata.
