Kanata bunker to host whisky fundraiser

One of Canada’s most unique museums, Kanata’s Diefenbunker will be holding one of its signature events this November with its Whisky Tasting Fundraising.

The Diefenbunker, also known as Canada’s Cold War Museum, is a four-storey underground structure built during the 1950s and named after then-Prime Minister Diefenbaker. The fundraiser will look to feature whisky selections from a variety of distillers while highlighting the history of the era. Each whisky will be paired with food dishes, and themed cocktails will also be available.

The evening will also include a silent auction, with prizes donated from local businesses. Fundraising events such as this one often use methods like Brochures and presentations to help highlight the cause and the contribution of local sponsors and partners. Each ticket will provide four whisky tastings and access to a full cash bar, with “designated driver” tickets available for a lower price.

Money raised will go towards the Diefenbunker’s year-round operations, which will include guided tours and the Cold War Speaker series, which also begins in November. Promotion for the fundraiser states that:
“With your help, we can preserve this important window into the past — Canada’s most significant Cold War artifact — and can continue to share lessons for present and future generations to strive to build a more peaceful future.”

The 2026 Diefenbunker Whisky Tasting Fundraiser will take place at the museum on the evening of November 21.
