The Kanata Art Club will be holding its annual $200 and Under Sale this November, aiming to provide fine visual art at an affordable price.
The sale is the Club’s major fall event and features paintings exclusively by artists from Kanata and other parts of the National Capital Region. The work spans multiple styles and genres with techniques ranging from watercolour and oil painting to mixed media and graphite. The sale is advertised as a way to find one-of-a-kind gifts for the upcoming holiday season as well as personal home decorations.
For artists, the sale is a chance to connect with viewers and find a buyer for their personal work. Each artist can bring up to 9 paintings, and 90% sold at least one at the 2024 event. Artists at events like this often use business card printing or create Promotional Products to have something smaller to hand out to interested parties.
All exhibitors are members of the Club, with many volunteering to help stage the event. The organization also holds classes to help local artists develop their skills, and hosts exhibitions such as Visions & Voices and the Eva James Memorial Community Centre Exhibit. The $200 and Under Sale will also feature free refreshments for visitors and free admission.
The 2025 Kanata Art Club $200 and Under Sale will take place on November 8 to 9 at the March Central Community Centre in Ottawa.
