Guelph Ribfest to treat city

One of the staples of summer, Ribfest Guelph will be returning this summer, offering ribs cooked by master grillers, live music, and a celebratory atmosphere.

The main attraction will be the many “ribbers” travelling to Guelph, including Jack the Ribber, Boss Hogs BBQ, and Canada’s own Billy Bones BBQ. Their ribs will be available to try throughout the weekend, and be professionally judged at the end of the weekend and the winner crowned. Visitors can also select gluten-free options or other food vendors like Billy Bob’s Bloomin’ Onions, Heavenly Dreams Ice Cream and Robert Frier Taste of Tornado.

There will be live musical entertainment throughout the weekend, headlined by The Kramdens, legendary tribute group Practically Hip, and Tokyo Giants.

Another feature of Ribfest Guelph will be the Gregg Mitchell Memorial Classic Car Show, where collectors and gearheads can show off their vintage rides. The best in each class will be crowned on the festival’s final day.

Ribfest will also feature children’s activities and entertainment, with past years including a carnival-style midway, storytelling, rock climbing, and face painting. Festivals like this often use methods like poster printing and social media to help connect with the local community.

The 2025 edition of Ribfest Guelph, hosted by the Rotary Club of Guelph-Trillium, will take place from August 22 to 24 at Riverside Park.
