Guelph golfers to support charity

East Wellington Community Services will be holding its 23rd annual Golf Tournament this July, raising funds to support people in need in the Guelph area.

The tournament is aimed at golfers of every skill level, with a friendly and community-friendly approach. Each participant will get to play 18 holes with a powered cart and complimentary bucket of balls. There will be prizes for the best scores on the course and individual holes, as well as other achievements.

The day will conclude with a dinner and silent auction. Past editions have also included live actions and prizes for the team with the best “Canadian” gear, with players encouraged to wear red and white to celebrate the nearby Canada Day. Marketing for the event emphasizes its approachable nature:

“Whether you're a seasoned golfer or just looking to enjoy a fun day on the course, this event is the perfect opportunity to connect, compete, and contribute. Expect an exciting day filled with friendly competition, prizes, and plenty of memorable moments.”

Funds raised will go towards essential services in the town of Erin and Guelph-Eramosa Township, including health care, social services and transportation. Charitable events like this often use poster printing and speeches to help identify the causes being supported as well as sponsors and volunteers.

The 2026 East Wellington Community Services Golf Tournament will take place at the Guelph Lakes Golf & Country Club on July 23.
