The second annual Geneaology Workshop Day is set to take place in Guelph next month.
The event, which is presented by the Wellington County Museum and Archives, will provide tips and strategies for Guelph residents who are interested in discovering more about their family tree. There will be three separate seminars and lunch will also be served.
The seminars to be presented include ‘Getting the Most out of FamilySearch.org’, ‘Beginning a Family History Project: 12 Steps for Success’ and ‘Researching your Ontario Roots using Traditional and Online Resources’ and ‘Exploring Lesser Known Resources: a Case Study of the Hollingshead-Everson Family of Wellington County’. Many people are interested in discovering their family background and these seminars should be a good way for them to get started.
It's likely that those presenting the seminars will be providing printed information to participants. This information will come in handy for them when they start to carry out research into their family background. Much of that information, which might come in the form of Booklets and Brochures, could be provided by Guelph printing companies.
Organizers are also probably working with those Print companies to help advertise the workshops in the community; this could be in the form of Flyers distributed in local newspapers.
The second annual Genealogy Workshop Day will take place at the Wellington County Museum and Archives on May 11 from 9:00am- 4:00pm. Tickets are $35 each. For more information on the workshops, call 519-846-0916 x5225.
