Guelph performance venue announces spring schedule

The River Run Centre, a performing arts venue in Guelph, has announced a slate of shows to kick off 2022 and welcome music lovers back to live concerts.

The announced schedule includes concerts and performances running from January to May, and it is the first time the venue has been able to return to a full event schedule in almost two years. The schedule includes multiple concert series designed to link together performances based on a common theme. For instance, the Borealis Music Series features independent musicians in diverse genres, and this will include folk group the Andrew Collins Trio, alternative vocalist Rachel Beck and the Indigenous musical tradition-inspired duo Twin Flames.

Another series, the Guelph Infiniti Music Series, will bring some more established names to River Run, including rock legend Tom Cochrane with his band Red Rider on February 2, and acclaimed indie musicians Hawksley Workman and Sarah Slean on February 25.

In addition to concerts, the centre has announced it will be hosting the Ballet Jorgen Canada’s performance of Romeo & Juliet on January 16, and a series of comedy specials, including Girls Nite Out with Elvira Kurt and the Just for Laughs Road Show. Venues such as this can be vital for artists of all sizes, typically using marquees and poster printing along with digital tools to advertise upcoming dates.

The River Run Centre’s spring 2022 schedule is currently available online, and it begins with the Andrew Collins Trio on January 14.
