Craft market to return to Guelph museum

After a successful previous instalment, the Market at the Museum event will be returning to Guelph this June, offering the chance to find unique artisanal goods and gifts in a special environment.

The event is hosted by the Muskrat Markets organization, which also organizes Craft Night at the Movies events, and will feature over 30 vendors selected through an online process. Confirmed exhibitors include crafters Orange Dawn Crochet, woodworker and blacksmith Richard Sears, children’s artist Nutmeg Illustration, and Nadica’s Naturals non-toxic cosmetics. The market will also include items like clothing, pet accessories, and glassware. There will be both indoor and outdoor areas for visitors to explore.

The market will be staged in conjunction with the Guelph Civic Museum. Visitors are also welcome to visit the museum’s exhibits, which include over 30, 000 artifacts from Guelph’s past, as well as the temporary exhibit “Darkness and Light: Inside the Ontario Reformatory”. The event will also feature musical performances from local artists.

Markets like this often use methods like banner printing and live performances to help create a welcoming atmosphere. The previous edition of Market at the Museum was held to coincide with the holiday season, and is now returning for the summer.

The summer 2025 edition of Market at the Museum will take place at the Guelph Civic Museum on June 7.
