Bubble soccer coming to Guelph

Sports fans from Guelph and the surrounding area will soon have a chance to try their hand at a game that is fast becoming a popular sport in Europe.

Bubble soccer, which is played in a

similar way to the regular version of the game, was invented several years ago. Participants play while wearing a large plastic bubble or “zorb” over their heads. It’s designed to help cushion the wearer and protect them from falls or being hurt if they run into one another. Full on contact is encouraged, which is different than regular soccer.

To help promote the sport in Guelph, a free event will be held on August 15th in the city’s Centennial Park. Equipment will be available in both adult's and kid’s sizes.

A Print company is able to produce Flyers to help promote this sort of activity as well as sheets with rules printed on them, signage, price lists for items like the “zorbs” and anything else needed.

The event is being staged by Mandy Gu and her business partner Edward Qian. They will also encourage visitors to try other activities, like bubble bowling.

Bubble soccer was first started as a bit of a joke, but those who tried it found they had so much fun playing it that it caught on and had since spread across the globe.
