Water garden society hosts Brampton garden tour

Horticulture lovers from across the Greater Toronto Area recently had a chance to enjoy browsing through some beautiful gardens in Brampton while getting ideas for projects they may want to try out in their own backyards.

The Great Toronto Water Garden Society hosted a special event in which people had an opportunity to take a self-guided tour of eight gardens in Brampton. All of them featured landscaped grounds with specially designed water features such as ponds, waterfalls and even a drawbridge.

One of them was owned by the Covellos, who noted that they love gardening and have worked over the years to make their property something special. It includes a wide array of perennials, and a specially designed pool complete with a waterfall.

In total, 115 tickets were sold for the tour, and a Stationery printing firm can provide this service, as well as printing Booklets that provide locations and descriptions for each garden on the tour.

Each of the properties that were open to those who took part had something that made it unique. The president of the society, Jim Grass, pointed out that water gardens can be soothing and relaxing, and they tend to use the feature, and not large plain areas of grass, as a focal point. This gives them a different feel, and provides new space for different species of plants.
