Upgrades coming to Bramptons GO transit service

Brampton residents who use mass transit to get around the GTA recently got some news that they may find most welcome.

The province’s transportation minister recently made an announcement that the GO train service between Toronto and Bramaleawill be expanded. The plan is for there to be a 15-minute service that runs between Union Station and Bramalea Go station, which is located at 1713 Steele’s Avenue. This will go both ways and run throughout the day.

Along with this announcement, other planned upgrades to the transportation were revealed. They include electrified services between Union Station and Bramalea, a 30-minute service during peak hours between Kitchener and Union Station, and an express run between Bramalea and Union Station stops.

There will also be an extension made to the Bramalea Station platform that will make it possible for 12-car trains to service this area. A poster printing firm will be able to create promotional materials that let riders know about the changes and when they can be expected to be completed.

According to the province, this is part of a plan it is implementing to help increase the levels of transit services that are available to those who live in the region. It was noted that the Bramalea platform improvements should be completed by 2017, but no timetable was given for the rest of the upgrades.
