Police in Brampton have put out an alert asking the public to be on the lookout for a very unusual escapee who is on the lam in the area.
A baby alligator is believed to be on the loose in the city. A call had come in saying that one had been seen close to a creek near Thorndale Road and Cottrelle Boulevard, and several subsequent calls reported similar sightings.
The police were dispatched to go and look for the rogue reptile They report that they made a thorough search, but were unable to find it. They further noted that that they hope it was able to find its way back to one of the creeks that can be found in the area, and are asking the public to let them know if they spot it. It is not known how big the gator might be and no description of it is available.
So far, it has not been determined where the alligator came from or how it found its way into the waterway. It joins two capybaras that are also loose in the city, having recently made an escape from High Park Zoo. Flyers can be used to let the public know when events like this occur and also provide information about what they can do to help.
