Learn how to make your creative business succeed
The HACE Business for the Arts Weekend will take place from November 10-14 at the Brampton Golf Club. This free event will feature 13 workshops which will teach you how to “maximize potential for success” of your creative business. Attendance is free for anyone who lives or works in Brampton and each workshop lasts 75 minutes. The HACE event has been taking place since 1999 and draws hundreds of participants.
Among those leading the workshops are librarians, musicians, magicians and business leaders. Topics covered will range from using Facebook, to planning your own publicity and a financial plan. Two notable speakers will be magician Ted Outerbridge and musician Cindy Church who will share the stories of their own paths to success. Other speakers at the event include Jenny Omstead, Rodney Murphy, Kim O’Brien and Barry Suskind.
One of the notable workshops will be DIY PR presented by Susan Coates. Participants will learn the basics of a public relations campaign. A successful public relations plan could include designing and sending out an informative flyer. Printing services in the Brampton area can help you produce a flyer for a very reasonable price that will appeal to anyone who receives it; direct mail marketing is one of the most successful of all public relations campaign types.
Other specific titles of workshops which will be presented at the HACE Business for the Arts Weekend include: Facebook Fearlessness; SOCAN for Music Creators; How to Turn your Talent into a Business; Creating a Start-up Financial Plan; and Go Global: it’s as Easy as Etsy.
