The third annual Brampton WingFest is set to take place over the last weekend of August. It is a presentation of the Chinguacousy Lions Club, and a portion of the proceeds will go to support the Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness.
One of the main draws of the event will be the chicken wings provided by local Brampton restaurants. Other foods will include corn on the cob, ice cream and a beer garden. In addition, there will be children's activities such as face painting, magicians, a bouncy castle, Pockets the Clown, a coloring contest and carnival rides.
Live music will be offered by acts such as the Chinguacousy Swing Orchestra and Shoot from the Hip, a Tragically Hip tribute band. The musical entertainment will range from the 1950s through the 80s and will include country and rock. There will also be an all-you-can-eat wing eating contest held during the festival and local providers will compete for such publically-chosen awards as Hottest Wings and Most Unique Flavour.
Visual Arts Brampton will also be there to showcase art displays from their members and providing information about the organization. No doubt they will be working with local printing companies to provide literature that people can take home with them; this could be in the form of a brochure, booklet or flyer.
Brampton WingFest 2013 will take place at Chinguacousy Park from August 30-31. Admission is free while food and carnival rides must be purchased. For more information, contact Jacqueline Dawson at 416-709-8891.
