What's Happening in Brampton, ON…

Festivals combine to create Celebrampton

Two festivals in the Brampton area are to merge this month, creating a new event called Celebrampton.

The new event transforms Brampton Day and the Flower City Parade into one celebration, which is expected to attract significant crowds when it takes place on June 15.

There will be a variety of events taking place across downtown Brampton throughout the day. A main stage will be located in Garden Square, where Mayor Susan Fennell will officially kick off the festivities at 12:00pm.

There will also be a cake cutting ceremony and a walk of fame, with photographers on hand to capture the moments. The Kids Zone will entertain the young ones at Gage Park with an inflatable slide and craft stations.

Ken Whillans Square will host the Fit Zone, where visitors can take part in Zumba and Yoga classes and kids camp games. Free food will be on offer at Wellington and Downtown. Community organizations and non-profit groups will be on hand to provide information in the Community Village; where there will also be a preview of the Farmers' Market.

The grand finale of the celebration will be the Flower City Parade at 3:00pm. This annual display pays tribute to Brampton's floral history.

Organizers of the big event are likely to have invested in such services as banner printing, sign printing and poster printing from Brampton print companies. These materials are often used to build excitement around big events.

In order to make it easier for residents to enjoy the celebration, public transit rides will cost just $1. For more information, call 905-874-3601.
