Last weekend, cyclists from across Brampton rode through the area to raise money for their favourite charities, as the Ride for Refuge came to town.
The event, which is in its sixth year, raised money for other organizations that provide help to the displaced, the vulnerable, and the exploited. This means that funds will go to assist refugees in foreign countries, the homeless, and trafficked humans, among many others.
Participants could ride individually or as part of a team, and either pay an entry fee or commit to raise money on their own, which will be donated to a charity of their choice.
The ride varies in distance between 10 and 100 kilometres along a marked route. The Ride for Refuge organization could consider hiring a printing company for the purposes of banner printing; for future installments of the event, such Banners could be placed at locations along the riding route in order to direct participants.
Ride for Refuge takes place in communities across Canada and the United States. Last year, the event raised over $90,000 in Brampton, and has raised more than $5,000,000 in North America since it first began.
In Brampton, the ride took place on Saturday, October 4th, with the event kicking off at 8.00am and the ride itself starting some time later.Get a Free Quote for Banners
