Brampton to learn about native plants

Gardeners who choose to plant native species do so for a variety of reasons, and an upcoming Brampton class will introduce these species to the public.

In honour of moms who garden, the Peel Art Gallery Museum and Archives has teamed up with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority to offer a two-part activity in time for Mother’s Day. The first will be dedicated to learning about plants and, after this, it will be time for everyone to get creative by painting the pots provided.

The attendees will find out how plants that are native to the Greater Toronto Area will be well suited to local growing conditions and often need less water and overall care. This will be followed by a painting session where the participants will be invited to add their own personal touch to their complimentary pot, which they will be able to use as a new home for the plant they receive.

As springtime and gardening often go hand in hand, a horticultural workshop like this can be a good fit for a Mother’s Day activity. A flyer printing company can supply an assortment of marketing materials for such workshops.

The Peel Art Gallery Museum and Archives is located at 9 Wellington Street, and it will be hosting the session on May 11th. It will start at 6:30 pm and wrap up at 8:30 pm.
