Brampton doctor chosen to receive special honor

A Brampton-based doctor was recently honored by the Ontario College of Family Physicians as being among the best of the best.

Dr. Lopita Banerjee was chosen by the organization to be this year’s recipient of their Family Physician of the Year for Mississauga and Central West regions. She was selected for the recognition because of the exemplary levels of patient care and her dedication to her chosen profession. A graphic design company can help to design an award to be presented to the winner that is suitable for the occasion.

Dr. Banjeree has dedicated herself to providing he very best in patient care, not only in Canada, but also in India, where she helped to establish a system of primary care. In Canada, she works with the Wise Elephant Downtown Brampton Family Health Team. Along with this, she has become involved in curriculum development for medical residents, as well as teaching nurse practitioners, medical students, residents and physicians assistants.

This acknowledgment of her work was part of the nationwide effort by the College of Family Physicians of Canada to mark the occasion of Family Doctor Week across the country. This annual celebration is intended to draw attention to the important role these physicians play in the overall health of the communities in which they serve. It also thanks them for the work they do.
