Brampton awards 2011 Business Person of the Year

The 2011 Business Person of the Year award will be handed out at the Holiday Inn Select Brampton on May 10 beginning at 6:15 pm. Tickets are $85 each or $680 for a table of eight for Brampton Board of Trade members and $100 each or $800 for a table of eight for non-members.

The award is given to “local business people who have demonstrated leadership in their profession and community". This year the award is being given to Rob Filkin from the law firm of McCabe, Filkin, Garvie and Hein.

The evening will start with a cocktail reception which will be followed by dinner and the awards program. This will be a great opportunity for Brampton business leaders to meet with one another and to grow their referral networks. Arranging for business card printing in advance of attending this event will ensure that business leaders will have enough cards to hand out and that the ones they do hand out are in perfect condition.

Business awards are numerous and every municipality seems to have a Business of the Year or Business Person of the Year award. This recognition is important in that it recognizes those who go beyond the mundane and make a real effort to make their business successful and to add value to the community. Those starting a new business or who are having trouble taking their business to the next level can learn from the example of those who win such awards.
