The Brampton Small Enterprise Centre has released its February line-up of workshops. Courses offered include Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Introduction to Business Planning, The New Importers Seminar, Introduction to Marketing and Tax Preparation. Each workshop is 90 minutes in length, with the exception of the Tax Preparation session which takes place over the lunch hour. Most are free or are offered at nominal cost.
Introduction to Entrepreneurship is recommended for those considering opening a small printing service in Brampton and will cover information on owning a business in Ontario.
Savvy entrepreneurs wishing to grow their Brampton printing company can take the Business Plan seminar, which will cover writing the four components of a good plan: research, the business model, sales goals and expense caps.
The Canada Border Service Agency offers The New Importers Seminar which will cover the regulations and rules covering importing goods into Canada for commercial use, such as printers, scanners, ink and paper. Everything you wanted to know about bringing goods into the country, from custom rates, government requirements and duty exemption, will be explained in this 90-minute session.
Advertising, planning and networking will be discussed in Introduction to Marketing, $20 a person plus tax. This course will help small business owners execute the marketing end of their business plan.
The final course in February will be Tax Preparation with CMA Bob Paisle; a noon-hour Q & A session, ideal for home-based enterprise or incorporated businesses.
Each workshop will be held at 33 Queen Street West in Brampton. To register for these and other programs, call the Brampton Small Business Enterprise Centre at 905-874-2650 or visit www.brampton-business.com.
