Vancouver takes a lot of pride in the diversity of its cultural celebrations, and for two days, an annual event will showcase its Chinatown district.
Light Up Chinatown will be a free festival hosted outdoors so that it takes full advantage of the summer weather. This will be its 4th year, and it will be set up along the 500 block of Columbia Street.
The plans for the weekend, which is being presented thanks to financial support from RBC, will combine food, music, games and other fun. Live music and other performances have been planned, and there will be limited edition meal collaborations to tempt the foodies in the crowd. Hawker-style street stalls will be onsite, and there will be lots of themed decor. Prize draws will add even more excitement. The main stage will be located at the intersection of Columbia and Keefer Streets.
Summer festivals are often held outside, which means any decor used will need to be able to withstand exposure to the elements. A banner printing company will have a range of options available, and these include both single use and reusable styles.
Light Up Chinatown will be bringing food, music and lots of other fun to Vancouver on August 16th and 17th. Its website provides the most current details including a list of its sponsors and registered vendors.
