Plants come in a wide variety of Forms, and a Vancouver online experience will introduce kids to those that reproduce using flowers.
The Online Nature Club will be offering its “Petal Power” workshop, which is intended for kids who are aged 5 to 12. Parents and caregivers are reminded that advanced registration is required, and it will be offered using the Zoom platform.
During the session, the kids will be learning about flowers and how plants use them to propagate themselves. They will find out how pollination takes place, how seeds form and how they then grow into plants. Anyone who has pictures of a flower is invited to submit them ahead of time, and the organizers have explained some will be selected and highlighted during the session. There will be time for the kids to ask questions, and the booking system for the activity is now open to the public.
Due to COVID-19, many institutions have had to find ways to adapt their programming to an online form like this, and Print shops can help. They will be able to supply everything from information and learning packages to marketing materials.
The University of British Columbia’s Beaty Biodiversity Museum will be introducing kids to the world of flowers on May 2nd. The function's scheduled start time is 10:30am, and it can be accessed both online and over the phone.
