Vancouver golfers to enjoy tournament

A day of camaraderie benefiting Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside may be just what the doctor ordered for those itching to get back onto the golf course.

Presented by Terra Breads, the 19th annual FIRST UNITED Golf Tournament will see local players of all ability levels get in the swing of things. A goal of raising $230,000 has been set, and the organizers are counting on the generosity of area golfers to make the event a success.

The ticketholders will be able to check in at University Golf Club starting at 12:00 pm, with the shotgun start set for 1:00 pm. There will be 18 holes and a Texas Scramble-style format. A light lunch will be provided, as well as golf balls, and refreshments will be available on the course. At 6:00 pm, everyone can take their seat for the banquet, and there is an option available to only attend this portion of the day.

The planning committee is hoping there will be a lot of corporate interest in its sponsorship program, and it is looking for the contribution of Corporate Gifts in kind, as well as financial support. It can be contacted through its Eventbrite listing discuss this further.

The 19th Annual FIRST UNITED Golf Tournament will tee off on May 25th. Tickets start at $100.00 each for the dinner and $300.00 for the full activity.
