Vancouver venue offers gardening workshop

A Vancouver activity will soon help local residents exercise their green thumbs.

A gardening workshop that will teach the basics of growing vegetables, fruit and herbs from seed is being held at Figaro’s Garden next month, and it will take place in time for the beginning of the seed-starting season. Tickets to take part start at $34.94, and the class may be helpful to both experienced and new gardeners alike, along with those with no experience whatsoever.

As well as the basics of starting seeds in trays or pots at home, the group will discuss how and when to direct sow. The process of hardening off seedlings before they are permanently moved outdoors will be reviewed, and everyone will learn which species and cultivars may be best for a home garden, as well as the growing conditions they will be working with.

Organizing a class or workshop may include choosing suitable learning materials. A printing services company will be happy to help, and can work with most budget constraints.

Figaro’s Garden, which is located at 1896 Victoria Drive in Vancouver, will see its Start an Edible Garden From Seed Gardening Workshop start at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, April 8th. It will run for approximately one hour, and at the time of writing, its registration system is still open on Eventbrite.
