Vancouver event welcomes area educators
Vancouver teachers who would like to invite Mother Nature into their classrooms may want to attend an upcoming function at a local venue.
The Great Hall in the Visitor Centre at Van Dusen Botanical Garden will be welcoming educators for its annual Free Teacher Open House day, which will provide an opportunity to learn more about what it has on offer.
The Open House event will see teachers learn more about the Botanical Garden’s field trip options for various grade levels, as well as the professional development workshops that are on its agenda. They will meet the Education Team, find out about the Botanical Garden’s complementary Adult Education courses, and discover details about the collections in the Yosef Wosk Library. A guided tour and prize draws will wrap up the day.
Educators often participate in conferences, professional development workshops and other learning activities. Stationery printers will be happy to supply copies of handouts for attendees for an event such as this.
The Van Dusen Botanical Garden will be rolling out the welcome mat for its Free Teacher Open House event at 10:00 am on August 28th. It will wrap up at 12:00 pm. The organizers have requested that everyone interested sign up in advance, and each attendee must register separately. The final date to register attendance will be August 27th.
