Vancouver event to introduce public to seafood foraging

When people think of seafood, freshly caught fish and shellfish often come to mind. The ocean has plenty to offer, and participants in Vancouver evening event will discover for themselves just how bountiful local waters can be.

Foragers and those who just want to add some new items to their menu are invited to register for the Sea Foraging Tour, which will set off from Jericho Pier. If last year’s session was any indication, this will be a sell-out event, so those who are interested may want to reserve their spot ahead of time.

The group will fish for crab, and will discuss how seaweed, sole, sculpin, and other fish can be caught in the local area. Invertebrates such as squid, clams and sea cucumbers will also be included in the session, and participants will find out how they can make their harvest safely using sustainable methods.

Along with the foraging activity, the group will be treated to a freshly prepared dinner on the beach. Offering attendees illustrated guides can help them to make the most of an event such as this, and these can be ordered form a printing services company.

The Sea Foraging Tour will be offered to Vancouver foodies on June 20th and June 21st as well as July 18th, September 6th and several other dates.
