Vancouver birders and those who would like to find out more about the hobby may want to be sure they save space next May for a bird-themed festival.
The Greater Vancouver Bird Celebration will introduce the public to the more than 250 avian species that can be found in the area. The activity draws inspiration from World Migratory Bird Day, and the festivities will run for two weeks.
The agenda for the festival includes everything from birding workshops to walks, exhibits and lectures, and there will be social activities as well. There will be offerings for all ages, and many of these will be set up in Stanley Park.
Stanley Park Ecology Society is the coordinator for the celebration, and additional support will be supplied by the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation and the City of Vancouver itself. Many of the sessions will be free.
More people are becoming concerned about environmental stewardship, and festivals give them an opportunity to learn and connect with others who share their interests. Poster printing services can be sourced from a local printer, which can use environmentally friendly methods to prepare marketing materials.
The Greater Vancouver Bird celebration will be showing love to the region’s avian set from May 11th to May 31st 2024. Additional information can be found on the All About Birds website, and this will be updated as its date approaches.
