Vancouver dahlia fans will be treated to an immersive experience when they shop, sell or do both at an upcoming horticultural expo up sale.
Originating in Central America, dahlias are known for their floral beauty. They are grown from tubers, and the Vancouver Dahlia Society has scheduled a sale that will offer the public a chance to score some new cultivars for their collection.
The sale will connect home gardeners and horticulturalists with dahlia growers and breeders. The shoppers can meet them and learn more about the varieties they specialize in, and they can share tips and best practices.
Anyone who is interested in joining the fun may be able to make some extra money by selling their excess tubers, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to the Society. Everyone can get the latest scoop on dahlia care and cultivation, and any unsold tubers at the end of the day can be dropped off in one of the Boxes marked for donation.
Plant collectors and other gardeners may welcome the opportunity to purchase cultivars that are not often available in the trade. A popup market can allow them to do so, and printed plant tags, information Booklets for sellers, vendor contracts and other materials can be prepared by a brochure printing company.
The Society will be offering the public the chance to discover dahlias with its spring tuber sale on April 6th. VanDusen Floral Hall will be the venue for the day.
