Vancouver activity to introduce pollinators

Vancouver educators who would like to add some hands-on learning to their curriculum may want to check out an option that is on offer at a local venue.

Van Dusen Botanical Garden has scheduled its 2023 Pollinator Days, and there are three date options on the agenda. It will be a self-guided activity, giving the students and educators alike an immersive introduction to the world of the insects, birds and other creatures that offer plants a helping hand.

The groups that participate in one of the days will be invited to try out the assorted activity stations, each of which will have its own theme. The learners can try out microscopes, sample honey, learn about bees and their ecology, visit the photobooth and play a variety of games.

When they arrive for their scheduled day, each group will receive a map that shows the location of the various activity kiosks. They can go along at their own pace, and as they do, they will be able to learn more about the Gardens’ community partners. A printing services company will be happy to take on any Print jobs needed to ensure a function will be a success.

This introduction to the pollinators that call the area home will be held on May 31st, June 1st and June 2nd. More information is available online.
