A Vancouver-area masquerade group will be holding one of its major events this November, as Yellow House Masquerade Society presents its annual ball in New Westminster.
The event will be a two-floor extravaganza, complete with open bar, food, art and plenty of dance space. Visitors can take a break in the designated chill space or the “cuddle den.” As for costumes, there is no dress code or mandatory theme – attendees are encouraged to dress in costumes of any era, historical or otherwise, but fabulous decoration is likely to be the order of the day.
The event is advertised as a way to make friends, and should also provide an opportunity to Vancouver-area residents who want to continue expressing their creativity after Halloween.
For those looking for some suggestion, the theme for the ball is “In the Gardens of Light and Darkness,” with attendees encouraged to use concepts of duality and contrast in their outfits. There will be a contest for the best costume. Yellow House is a nonprofit, arts-based organisation that raises funds for the annual event through art events throughout the year. Organizations like this often raise awareness for events through tools like banner printing and Promotional Products.
