Upcoming show to rev up its motor

The 15th annual Key West Ford Show and Shine is returning to New Westminster in a couple of weeks. Presented by the Downtown New West BIA, it attracts at least 13,000 visitors each year.

More than 300 cars are expected to be on show in 21 classes, which include commercial, restored cars and trucks, and vehicles from 1959 and older. Cars can be registered for $25. In addition, there is also a Bicycle Show and Shine so people can show off their rides for a registration fee of $10.

There will be more than just cars to draw visitors, with other attractions including food for purchase, entertainment on two stages, five beer gardens, photo booths, and martial arts demos. The Family Zone is set to feature a balloon artist, face painting, and the Tumblebus. Among the musical guests slated to perform are the Bone Daddies and Royal City Swing.

Vendors are also expected to be on hand to sell a variety of products or give out freebies. Those New Westminster businesses that wish to hand out free promotional items will likely have them made by their favorite printing company.

The show will take place along Columbia Street on July 13 from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm and is free to attend. To find out more about planned activities or registering a car, call 604-524-4996.
