The Seniors Festival is taking place next month in New Westminster. It is a presentation of the New Westminster Seniors’ Advisory Committee.
The festival is in recognition of National Seniors Day, which is next Monday, October 1.
The theme of the festival is “Set no Limits” and there are plenty of activities. Red Robinson will be giving the keynote speech. As a long-time DJ in the Vancouver area who has retired recently, Robinson will be discussing and reading excerpts from his new book, titled ‘Red Robinson: The Last DJ’. There will also be a speech from Colin Milner from the International Council on Active Aging.
There will be musical entertainment from Bobby Bacchus and comedy from Janice Bannister. Those attending may also take part in an Arts To Go activity.
Guests will also enjoy a free lunch and can win door prizes. There will also be a trinket market and an information fair that will feature representatives from over 32 community groups and organizations.
Coffee, tea, and cookies will be served free of charge throughout the day.
New Westminster flyer printing firms are often asked to supply marketing materials for events like this that can easily and inexpensively be distributed in the community.
The Seniors Festival will be held at Century House on October 21 from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM. For more information about this event, contact the Century House Association at 604-519-1066.
