The 27th annual Harmony Arts Festival is taking place next month for 10 days. This popular event attracts approximately 130,000 visitors each year.
The festival is a celebration of music, art, literature and film and is designed to showcase the best of the North Shore artistic community.
There are set to be outdoor film screenings and concerts. Some of those who will be performing at this year’s festival include the Birds of Chicago, The Paperboys and Warren Dean Flandez. Several authors will also be giving readings at John Lawson Park.
An art market will be held over two weekends, where local artisans will be selling their unique and handmade items such as jewelry, clothing, and paintings.
There will be a wine garden, an Art of Food exhibition, art exhibits and drop-in art activities for people of all ages. Artsy Kids will be hosting activities such as creating monotypes and prints and Dadaist poetry placards. In addition, there will be a children’s art exhibition and auction called For the Love of Art.
This event will attract visitors from all over the North Shore, including nearby North Vancouver. The area is cordoned off with a series of pop-up Banners.
The Harmony Arts Festival will be held on the West Vancouver waterfront from August 4 to 13. Call 604-925-7268 for the most current information.
