New Westminster yoga studio gives local animals a helping hand

The owners of a yoga and dance studio in New Westminster have decided to use their skills to help raise money for a local animal shelter.

Two times a month, the instructors at MOVE Toga, Pilates and Dance Studio, which is located in Sapperton, host a special Yoga 101 class. They ask those who take part to make a donation to the New Westminster Animal Shelter. Some of the classes are taught by teachers who are newly trained, so it also helps them by giving them more experience in the field. Flyers can be distributed throughout the community letting people know about their fund raising efforts and inviting them to take part.

According to Aaron and Jenni Hart who own the studio, they have set a goal of raising at least $300, and they invite anyone else who may be interested in helping out by teaching one of the classes to let them know. They plan on dropping their donation off at the shelter on December 19th.

The Harts noted that they have not specified how they want to donation to be used, other than that they would like it to be put to use in the way where it can do the most good for the animals. They further remarked that they have received a lot of support from the staff at the facility, some of whom have even come out to take a class themselves.
