The Minister of State for Western Economic Diversitification toured New Westminster recently, to explore two key developing projects in the Western city that will help promote local economies and stimulate growth. The two projects have received federal funding. Both projects are excellent news for companies that want to offer printings services to local businesses and non-profit organizations in a grow thing and thriving local Western city.
One of the endeavours includes a Youth Centre at Moody Park. The iniative opened recently, at a cost of $2.7 million. The Youth Centre was placed strategically next to Century House, and is expected to be the site of inter-generational mingling, recreation and activity. As the future site of community activities for the youth and seniors, local printers may be expected to provide printing services to advertise local events in the new community resource.
The second exciting project transforming New Westminster, BC is a beautiful 10 acre waterfront park overlooking the Fraser River. This delightful project cost $25.1 million and will be a welcome place to rest and relax for local residents. Parks are also the site of numerous community events, local festivals and concerts. Big names in town may choose to set up stage in the new park, meaning that local printers may be asked by either the city or private organizers to publish paraphernalia like banner printing or signage, to help promote local temporary events in the community.
The two projects themselves have contributed to over 36,000 local jobs in the competition of the projects alone, notwithstanding the number of additional jobs, including printing industry jobs, that will be created when the public spaces begin to be utilized to their fullest potential.
