The Momentum Youth Arts Movement Festival is set to take place in New Westminster over three days next week. It is a presentation of the Arts Council of New Westminster and is aimed at promoting younger artists and musicians who reside in the area.
As part of the festival, the Plaskett Gallery will be showing works of art submitted and created by the city’s creative residents.
Four bands will compete at the Win the Moment event, with the prize being the opportunity to perform with indie band ‘Hey, Ocean!’ the next night.
In addition to the concerts, free workshops are also taking place during the festival. Topics include Improve 101, Jewelry Making, Mixed Media Painting, a Tour of the Massey Theatre, and Monitors and You. There is bound to be something to appeal to all tastes.
New Westminster Print companies may well have been asked to provide marketing products such as Posters and Flyers to encourage more people to take part in the festival.
The Momentum Youth Arts Movement Festival will be held at the Massey Theatre from November 1 to 3. The showcase is running at the Plaskett Gallery in the Theatre from October 31 to November 10.
The Win the Moment Showcase will take place on November 1, starting at 7:00pm. Admission is $5. Hey, Ocean! will be performing on November 2 at 7:00pm. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
