The New Westminster Chamber of Commerce has a lot to look forward to in 2012, and hopes to realize its many plans for the business community this year with the help of its new executive team.
Current president Andrew Hopkins is in the second year of his mandate and is welcoming new vice president Christine Conway, Secretary-treasurer Michael van Lierop and director-at-large Ruby Campbell. In November 2011, president Andrew Hopkins also appointed Cori Lynn Germiquet, who replaced retiring David Brennan.
Past president Terri Rodger will also continue to serve on the board and help tackle the many business related challenging issues in the area in the political arena.
Among a few of the issues the New Westminster Chamber of Commerce is tackling includes a new proposed Sign Bylaw that impacts all businesses in the area, including Print companies. Public input is sought in a by-law that regulates signage and some of the proposed areas of change affect printers involved in banner printing directly directly, such as relaxing regulations for window signage, menu box Signs for commercial areas, and relaxing fascia sign regulations.
In April 2012 public input was actively sought to help the Chamber of Commerce assess the proposed chanes and regulate signage in a way that balances both business and community needs. A public meeting with the new executive team was held in March 2012.
Print companies in New Westminster are encouraged to contact the new executive team to learn more about how the proposed by-laws will affect their printing services.Get a Free Quote for Signs Get a Free Quote for Print
