Heritage New West will be holding a unique holiday fundraising event this December as it invites residents to visit some of the city’s most luxurious homes.
The Homes for the Holiday Tours will allow donors to tour five private residences and historic Irving House. Irving House is one of the city’s oldest homes, built in 1865, and still features its original wallpaper and many decorations in the Gothic Revival style. The house has recorded tours available in over a dozen languages. Each home will be heavily decorated to fit the holidays, and show off different types of historic architecture within New Westminster.
All funds raised through the event will go towards the Queen’s Park Healthcare Centre Volunteer Society. The society helps to provide items and support programs for residents at William Rudd House and Queen’s Park Care Centre dealing with long-term health issues.
The event is organized by the Heritage New West organization, which has undertaken brochure printing to provide a one-stop “passport” brochure to provide entry to each step of the tour. Attendees can choose to visit the houses in any order to help reduce wait times at each location. The guided tours aim to highlight festive cheer and community.
The 2025 Homes for the Holidays fundraiser will take place on the evening of December 7 at Irving House and other locations in New Westminster.
