Thanks to a recent donation from a community benefactor, New Westminster’s Queen’s Park Care Center Concerts in Care program has funding for another year.
The contribution came from Westminster Savings, which is a local credit union. It presented the facility with a cheque valued at $5,100, which will be used to help fund the concerts. The performances have been put on since 2007, with different organizations providing support.
Under the program, various musicians put on a 45-minute performance each month. According to the centre’s executive director, the calibre of the talent participating in the shows is particularly high. There’s been everything from piano duets to folk music and even world music performances.
The executive director also noted that of the 150 residents, about 40 come out to attend the shows each month. She reports that they always enjoy it, and for many of them, it provides an opportunity to engage in pleasant memories while they listen to the music. It’s an opportunity for those who have mobility issues and who can’t easily get around to enjoy live musical entertainment. The donation will ensure that they will continue to have this opportunity.
A Print company can help to make the music interludes even more enjoyable by creating concert programs, concert decorations, and many other items. Professionals can also create Signs for the concerts that can be displayed in the facility, and updated based upon who will be performing.Get a Free Quote for Signs Get a Free Quote for Print
