New West market to return for holidays

The New West Farmers’ Market will be holding a special holiday edition of its event this December, marking the fifth edition of the Holiday Market in New Westminster.

The Holiday Market will feature over 80 vendors, including food trucks offering hot meals, and local artisans providing handcrafted gift items. There will also be uninterrupted live music throughout the event, including surprise performers, and activities aimed at children as part of the Sprout Club Tent area. Last year’s performers included local musicians like Sue Breton, Larry’s Brother and John Bowman. The market requests an entrance donation of $5 or more, with the money split between the NWFM organization and the BCAFM Nutrition Coupons, benefiting local people in need.

The Farmer’s Market typically runs weekly during the spring and summer months, with a mixture of locally grown organic food and craft goods. Frequent market guests include food trucks like Vietnamese Spring Rolls and Little Miss Coffee Co, and artisans such as Artfully Yours and Wick Off Candles. Vendors at markets like this often invest in an eye-catching Logo Design and choose irreverent names to help distinguish themselves from major brands. The event will be hosted rain or shine, and is open to dogs.

The 2024 New West Holiday Market will take place on the afternoons of December 14 and 15 in front of New Westminster City Hall.
