The awards are presented in 13 categories based on nominations from members and the community. Top prizes for organizations include the Bernie Legge Arts & Culture Business of the Year Award, Community Champion Award, and Environmental Sustainability Award. Past winners of the awards include community organizations like the Lower Mainland Purpose Society and New Westminster Family Place.
Individuals can also be nominated for awards like the Young Professional of the Year, Chamber Member of the Year, and Business Leader of the Year. Nominations were made by members of the New Westminster Chamber earlier in the year with nominees required to be Chamber members in good standing.
The final awards will be presented in a gala, red-carpet ceremony, with speeches highlighting the contributions that winners and nominees have made. Business awards like these are often featured on plaques and banner printing for the recipient businesses and individuals. Promotional material for the awards says that:
“This premier event is more than an awards ceremony - it’s a celebration of our history, resilience, and the incredible contributions that drive our community forward.”
The 2026 New Westminster Chamber Business Awards will take place on the evening of November 14 at Roma Hall.
