New programs arrive at New Westminster library

March will be a busy month at New Westminster public library, with a variety of new programs being promoted for children to take part in. A small number of events reserved for adults are also being advertised in brochure printing.

Weekly conversation circles for ESL learners begin on March 1st and are open to learners of all levels as well as volunteers and residents interested in making new friends and offering conversational practice to learners. The New Westminster Library and the Fraserside Community jointly sponsor the event. Conversation circles are held exclusively for women on Fridays.

A number of events for babies and toddlers are also scheduled for March. Baby Time is a free drop-in program for children upto 23 months old and their mothers or caregivers featuring songs and rhymes. Slightly older children can take advantage of Preschool Storytime, which is designed for children aged 2-5, while Family Storytime welcomes all ages.

Free citizenship classes and travel shows will also begin in March. ‘Visit’ Spain will be the focus of the March monthly travel show and is sponsored by the library and University Women’s club.

Queensborough artists will be on hand to present ‘Artists in the Buro’, an exhibit opening on March 1st running until March 31st. Artists in the Buro will display a variety of themes, techniques, artwork and media. Artists Richard and Kathleen Klein will also run their March display featuring photographs of spring and autumn flowers.
