New Lit Fest for writers and printers takes New Westminster BC by storm

Publishers, avid readers, representatives of Print companies and anyone interested in Print media should not miss out on the New Lit Fest event put together by the Arts council of Westminster, BC on April 15, 2011. The event will be a wonderful local book trade featuring authors, book retailers, and people involved in the book trade, likely also local printers. Saturday April 16, 2011 will also include a poetry slam competition and C.R Avery is expected to begin by performing her work.

Renowned authors and poets such as Dennis E Bolen, Edna Anderson, Candice James, Steven Galloway and Gabor Gasztonyi are expected to be in attendance. Writers and workshops can attend and have manuscripts personally reviewed and get mentoring support and advice from professional writers.

Representatives from Print companies in and around the New Westminster, BC area may be interested in attending and networking with other publishers and printers expected in attendance. Publishers from local publications will discuss the future of Print in a panel discussion entitled Media Matters- Online vs. Print. Publishers will discuss the future of the media as well as the implications of online media on traditional printed sources. Expected to provide insider viewers are Kaitlin Fontana from Rolling Stone, Pat Tracy, editor of New Westminster publication The Record, Stephen Thompson, a writer from Georgia Straight as well as Tracey Keenan publisher representing the Newsleader.

The yearly event proudly supported by the Arts Council of Westminster, BC takes place every spring.
