Music festival to make contact in New West area

Describing itself as “Canada’s Biggest Musical Festival”, Contact will be celebrating its tenth edition with a two-day musical bonanza.

The first night of the event will be headlined by Above & Beyond, a European electronic group that are regularly ranked highly in polls of top DJs. Also appearing on the first night are Subtronics, Madeon and special guest James Hype. The second day will feature radio hitmakers The Chainsmokers. They will be supported by artists including Loud Luxury, Sudden Death and Cedric Gervais. The festival looks to provide a luxurious experience, offering VIP passes as well as lockers on site for guests to store their belongings.

Contact also bills itself as Canada’s largest indoor music festival, featuring a more concentrated line-up than summer outdoor fests, and it aims to attract pop and electronic music lovers from nearby areas such as New Westminster. The festival is open to all ages, with a 19+ VIP area. Festivals have become a staple of live music, typically promoted through local radio, poster printing and other marketing devices. Contact is hosted by Blueprint Events and Live Nation British Columbia, which put on a number of major music festivals throughout the year.

The 2022 edition of Contact will take place at the BC Place Stadium in Vancouver on December 29 and 30.
