Economic forum to focus on New Wests future

The New Westminster Chamber of Commerce will be holding its annual Economic Forum this February, aiming to set the course for New Westminster’s economy in the months and years to come.

The forum will be an afternoon-long event aiming to attract luminaries of the local economy. There will be a panel of guests including the Downtown BIA’s Angelene Prakash, Beedie Industrial’s Todd Yeun, and Ian Totenson of the BCRFA, all speaking on the future of New Westminster. Attendees will receive a three-course plated lunch from Truffles Catering during the panel discussion. Following the panel, there will be breakout sessions to allow for greater networking and problem solving, with each participant allowed their choice of two topics from industry, housing, tourism and building.

The Economic Forum will also include a dedicated networking session, as well as a miniature trade show, with local businesses and organizations invited to show what they have to offer. Visiting exhibitors and attendees at events like this often make use of Business Cards and promotional items to help make permanent connections. The conference, held in conjunction with the Downtown New West BIA, will have the theme of “Vision 2030”, focusing on how the economic sphere could change by the end of the decade.

The 2025 New Westminster Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Forum will take place on the afternoon of February 6 at the Anvil Centre.
