For business leaders, the Fall 2014 kicked off with a lively discussion on the future of the New Westminster economy, as the Invest New West economic forum took place on October 2nd.
The event, held in the newly built Anvil Centre and hosted by the City of New Westminster and the New Westminster Chamber of Commerce, featured a variety of speakers and a panel discussion on the future of business in the community, as well as areas for possible investment and growth.
This year’s keynote address was conducted by Colin and Dale Bosa, brothers and property developers, who spoke about their history doing business in New Westminster, as well as the many new opportunities they envision for the area. In addition, Andrew Ramlo of the company Urban Futures presented research into demographic and commercial trends in Metro Vancouver.
Participants in the event represented a wide range of business interests in the area, including people from the finance, hospitality, education, and technology industries. At such an event, it was likely that there were opportunities for entrepreneurs to network and meet likeminded individuals. In doing so, they may have used digital Business Cards.
